HERE'S THE RUN DOWN:
The County Executive has committed $500,000 in a dollar-for-dollar matching gift card program for locally owned restaurants within Onondaga County. National chain restaurants are not eligible. The website for restaurants to apply to participate went live on April 9th. Interested restaurants must sign up by April 18th to be a part of the first round of the program. Round 1 will run from 4/20 - 5/10. This is a dollar-for-dollar match program. Consumers will download or print a single use voucher in increments of $25 up to $100. Consumers bring the uniquely coded voucher (all vouchers are uniquely coded per round) to the restaurant and present it at the time of purchase of the gift card. A $50 gift card purchase with matching voucher will result in $100 gift card. Restaurants will submit to [email protected] a copy of the receipt (for the sale of the gift card), along with the matching voucher OR matching voucher number printed on the receipt for reimbursement of the match. Onondaga County will remit the funds to the restaurants within 72 hours either via ACH or check per the restaurant's choice. A bar that serves appetizers (has a menu) and if the bakery or butcher shop also serves as a restaurant - i.e. seating area with prepared food - sandwiches, soups, etc. would qualify.
